Kevin Owens is certainly doing his part in building the speculation for a potential dream match with WWE Hall of Famer 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.

As previously noted, WWE is reportedly trying to bring Austin back for a match at WrestleMania 38. This year's event will be held in Austin's home state of Texas (AT&T Stadium in Arlington). The Texas Rattlesnake wrestled his final match for WWE 19 years ago at WrestleMania 19, losing to The Rock. A serious neck injury ultimately prompted Austin to retire at the young age of 38.

It has since been reported that Owens is the leading candidate to face Austin at WrestleMania 38. On last week's episode of Raw, Owens planted the seeds for a potential by revealing his dislike for Austin's home state.

Owens was at it again on Tuesday night. Responding to a fan's question on Twitter, Owens stated that he finds beer "Gross." Drinking beer, of course, was a signature part of Austin's wrestling character.

It has also been reported that if Austin were to return to the ring, he would wrestle more than one match. Last summer, the WWE Hall of Famer had a wrestling ring built at his ranch, which many interpreted as a sign that he is indeed working towards a return to action.

WWE reportedly contacted Austin several weeks ago to see if he'd be interested in wrestling again. At this time, there isn't any confirmation that the former WWE Champion has agreed to come out of a 19-year retirement.

Owens Would Be The Perfect Opponent For Austin

The former Universal Champion, for a variety of reasons, would be the ideal opponent for Austin. Their promos together would be top-notch, for starters. And of course, Owens adopted Austin's Stunner finishing maneuver. Owens is an elite in-ring worker who could work well with Austin, especially if WWE doesn't want the 57-year-old to take serious bumps. The match isn't official, but if Austin does come back, it's hard to think of many better opponents than Owens.
