Kyle O'Reilly may be competing in a big title match at NXT 2.0 WarGames but a recent report indicates that it might well be the last WWE match for the longstanding NXT star.

RELATED: Kyle O'Reilly Reveals Why He Took A Break From WWEIt had been reported that Kyle O'Reilly's WWE contract was due to expire in December, but PWInsider have provided an update to suggest that his current deal may run out as early as this week, meaning if he doesn't come to terms with the company on a new contract he'll be walking away sooner than we think.

The site reported: "This week could be the final week for Kyle O'Reilly in WWE NXT if he doesn't come to terms with the company on a new contract, PWInsider.com has learned."

This means that the former Undisputed Era star's NXT Tag Team Title match at tonight's WarGames pay-per-view, that sees O'Reilly teaming with newcomer Von Wagner, might not be the most suspensful as there's no way that WWE put the title belts on someone who's potentially walking out the door soon. With that in mind it seems that Imperium retaining the titles is a foregone conclusion.

But, there's still time for O'Reilly to commit to a new deal that would see him stay for another 2-3 years so it might not be quite the pointless match after all. I expect that the result of the title match at WarGames will reveal a lot about O'Reilly's future plans.

Will Kyle O'Reilly Go To AEW?

With Adam Cole and Bobby Fish both making the jump from WWE to AEW, ever since O'Reilly's contract status hit the news people have been speculating that he'll follow the other two Undisputed Era originals over to Tony Khan's company too.

Other feel that there's no benefit to anyone for Cole, Fish and O'Reilly to rehash the Undisputed Era in AEW and that they'd rather see all three men continue to do their own thing outside of WWE. Some people also hope that O'Reilly returns to New Japan Pro Wrestling where he's seen success in the past.
