Wrestlemania is just about a month away, and WWE is hard at work developing the card for their biggest show of the year. Tonight's episode of Raw was a major stepping stone toward Wrestlemania; Brock Lesnar accepted Omos' challenge, and Bray Wyatt is seemingly driving toward a match against Bobby Lashley. Headlining Monday Night Raw tonight were the defending WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Damage CTRL and their challengers, Becky Lynch and Lita.
Trish Stratus Helps Team Bextreme Win Tag Team Gold
The partnership between Lita and Becky Lynch began on the February 6 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, where she came to Becky Lynch's aid during the Man's cage match against Bayley. The next week, Lita and Becky appeared on a segment of Ding Dong, Hello! to challenge Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky for their WWE Women's Tag Team Championships.
Tonight, Team Bextreme got their title shot. The match was going in Damage CTRL's favor due to outside interference from their leader Bayley. Luckily, Lita's best friend and WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus came to the rescue. She tackled Bayley to the ground and took her out of the equation. Thanks to Trish's help, Lita was able to hit her signature moonsault on Iyo Sky to earn a three count and win the match.
Lita and Becky's victory brings Damage CTRL's second tag team title reign to an end at 115 days. This is Lita's first time holding a WWE title since 2006, and Becky Lynch's first time as WWE Women's Tag Team Champion.
