It's always a good idea to start a big show with a big match. The problem is picking a match you know will deliver. That isn't really an issue when it comes to Money in the Bank, as WWE always has at least two ladder matches to choose from. This year, it kicked things off with the women's match. Seven Superstars vying for the contract hanging above the ring. A contract that has led to a title reign every single time a female Superstar has won it.

Miss Money In The Bank

The match didn't disappoint either. Not just the action, but the winner too. After seemingly missing out on moments that appeared to have her name written on them for months, Liv Morgan is finally in the spotlight. It was also very fitting that the last person she needed to get through before unhooking the briefcase to become Miss Money in the Bank was Becky Lynch.

The final spot before Morgan sent Lynch to the mat was an incredibly risky one too. The MITB winner was on a ladder alongside Lynch's, and Big Time Becks attempted to kick it over. Morgan stuck out a leg, pushed it against the top rope, and successfully righted the ladder. She then knocked Lynch off the ladder under the contract, hopped on, and climbed those last few steps to become Miss MITB.

Great Way To Start The Show

There was plenty of other stuff in this match to love before that terrific closing sequence too. Every Superstar in the match gave it their all and all were involved in some great, sometimes brutal-looking spots. Shotzi and Alexa Bliss bumped into and then fell awkwardly with a ladder in the ring, while Lynch hit a leg drop on a prone Asuka led on a ladder at ringside. A move that appeared to hurt both women equally.

Next for Morgan is deciding what she is going to do with that contract. The new Miss MITB has 12 months to cash-in, but could well seize her opportunity before the end of the night. There are two Women's Title matches still to go at the time of typing this. Perhaps Morgan will cash in on Ronda Rousey or Bianca Belair. Or their challengers should they win either of those title matches.
