Fans who were attending an AEW fan meet and greet ahead of this weekend's Double Or Nothing pay-per-view are reporting that MJF no-showed the event and were told by security that he was not picking up his phone when officials were trying to reach him. PWInsider has picked up the story and it appears to be accurate.

Some have suggested this is MJF operating in full kayfabe mode and staying in character, but @DorionDoes makes a good point when he writes on Twitter, " People are laughing and calling MJF no showing the meet and greet as a master class of "his character". Let's be clear, AEW is not going to charge people $100+ each for a M&G with the sole intention of working and disappointing people and having to refund each purchase." If MJF did, no-show, this is going to be a major storyline heading into Sunday's event.

MJF makes his entrance for All Elite Wrestling

This smells of bigger issues between MJF and AEW and it certainly suggests that rumors of his having a beef with the company, specifically Tony Khan about his pay, status in AEW and talk of a future contract dispute are probably accurate. PWInsider is reporting that the feeling backstage is that MJF is not happy and he and Tony Khan are not on the same page in terms of his future. They report he's been isolating himself backstage and many believe he's going to shop his services as a free agent as soon as he's able in 2024. There are also reports MJF is not really open to sitting down and working things out and he might be trying to put pressure on AEW to let him out of his deal early.

What Is MJF's Plan Here?

A fan on Twitter said that security advised fans that he would not be coming and while some were given the option to get into a different line, others were issued refunds. Let's hope this is not MJF going into business for himself and simply not showing a scheduled event and fans be damned. That won't send a strong impression to AEW or a potential future employer in WWE.
