As per a report by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select (h/t Eric Mutter of Wrestling Inc), there are even more reasons to wonder if MJF will ultimately choose to leave AEW when his contract is up in 2024. According to their update on MJF's situation with AEW, the bright lights of Hollywood have apparently entered the conversation.

Fightful is reporting that MJF met with Tony Khan prior to Rampage two nights before Double or Nothing. That's the same weekend he no-showed the meet-and-greet and left everyone wondering what his status was with the company. While they cannot confirm aspirations to make a move to Hollywood were discussed during that meeting, it was confirmed that MJF did not attend the company's party with WarnerMedia/Discovery executives. That's perhaps a bit surprising considering there are reports MJF is interested in trying out his acting chops.

Chris Jericho MJF

The report notes, "MJF has had a growing interest in pursuing Hollywood opportunities. According to his friends, as well as other consistent Fightful sources, MJF has been speaking more about the possibility of getting into acting." They note that this could have played a factor in MJF staying out in Los Angeles versus traveling home following AEW's first real trip out on the west coast. What's so interesting about this is that AEW is not yet known as a company that has ties to Hollywood, at least not like WWE does.

WWE Stars Cross Over All The Time

If there is even the slightest bit of truth to the Hollywood rumor, one has to wonder if that ups the odds of MJF being interested in WWE. He might tell them that he's got a real interest in wrestling for them and becoming a star in films and working on other projects. For WWE, they can offer him a doorway to that kind of success.

Or, if MJF doesn't feel like he needs a wrestling company to make that Hollywood jump, perhaps he tries it on his own.
