Comeback! Mir Scores First-Round KO Over Bigfoot In Brazil

With his back against the wall and the idea of retirement looming, UFC Heavyweight Frank Mir returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion this past weekend (Feb. 22, 2o15) in Brazil at UFC Fight Night 61: "Bigfoot vs. Mir," knocking out Antonio Silva in the very first round.

Taking place at Ginasio Gigantinho in Porto Alegre, Brazil, the home crowd and booking favorite succumbed to a left hook, and was swarmed by the American who laced "Bigfoot" with a few more shots before referee Mario Yamasaki stepped in.

Not only did Mir snap a four-fight losing streak, it was his first win since 2011, and he scored the "Performance of The Night" bonus in the process. As for "Bigfoot," pundits alluded to his chin not being what it once was, seeing how his past five losses have all come by a way of stoppage due to strikes.

The video clip above shows UFC broadcaster Jon Anik catch up with Mir in a post-fight interview, where the knockout can be seen at the 1:11 mark.
