McGregor Doesn't Look Good In Released Boxing Training Video

A released video of Conor McGregor training for his boxing match with Floyd Mayweather does not put the fighter in the best light.

If the McGregor v. Mayweather fight coming up on August 26th was going to be MMA rules, Connor McGregor would be an overwhelming favorite to win the fight and win it easily. But it isn't. It is going to be a boxing match with boxing rules and boxing gloves and while McGregor is a good striker in the UFC, real boxing is a whole different can of worms - as was made very obvious by a video posted by former IBO champion Chris van Heerden.

Van Heerden has sparred with McGregor in the past and McGregor's camp released some of the footage of them sparring to show off how good Connor looked. However, there were people claiming that the footage was edited to make McGregor look good and Van Heerden came out and said as much, claiming that he had "shocking" footage that clearly showed that he was the better boxer in the session.

And a couple days ago he released that "shocking" footage on social media and as you can see for yourself, Van Heerden was right: McGregor looks sorely overmatched:

Van Heerden told TMZ:

"I sparred with McGregor, off season, coming from a holiday, out of shape and basically playing and having fun, and being me. Not even focused, not even in camp, out of shape... I’m reading all these comments saying Floyd will have his hands full landing on Conor because of his footwork, skills and movement. I’m no Mayweather, out of camp, and out of shape — and we landed at will."

“It’s crazy to think that people can actually compare a fighter that’s 0-0 in a boxing ring, to a legend that’s 49-0. If you look at his resume, he fought the best of the best in the world."

And even if McGregor is able to land some punches, Van Heerden doesn't think it will do enough damage:

"No (he won’t have the KO power), not with 10 oz gloves... He fought Maidana that landed. He got rocked by Sugar Shane Mosley, and I’ve got the opportunity of working with Shane — he can punch. (Floyd’s) been hit by guys that can punch, and he’s so good, he knows how to recover."
