UFC star Cris Cyborg has been trying to fight Ronda Rousey for the past few years now, but that likely won’t happen given the fact that Rousey has pretty much retired from mixed martial arts after two brutal losses. One was to Holly Holm and the other was to Amanda Nunes.

With Rousey now finalizing a contract with WWE, Cyborg will have to enter a wrestling ring if she wants a piece of her.

But first, Cyborg will have to defend her UFC Featherweight title against Holly Holm UFC 219 later this month. After that, it sounds like she would be up to facing off against Rousey at WrestleMania.

Cyborg recently attended a WWE event and said she loved the atmosphere and the experience.

"I think Ronda Rousey in the WWE would be an amazing thing," Cyborg told FloCombat on Monday. "I just recently attended my first WWE event live when RAW was in [Los Angeles] filming and I absolutely loved the experience. If she really is done fighting and not returning to the UFC, I think the idea of a WWE match between us for the fans is still something everyone could get excited about.

"Could the Brazilian Vale Tudo Fighter beat the American shoot fighting champion? That seems like a pretty natural story line to a WrestleMania if you ask me. I know 70,000 fans who would still be willing to pack a stadium to see Cyborg vs. Rousey even if it took place in a three-rope ring instead of a cage."

While it would be very entertaining to watch Rousey and Cyborg go at it at WestleMania, neither fighter has any wrestling experience.

Rousey is pretty much brand new to the sport. Yes she’s made some WWE appearances, but that doesn’t mean anything when it comes to wrestling someone in a ring.

Cyborg only has experience as a kickboxer and MMA fighter. She's 18-1 as an MMA fighter and 2-1 as a kick boxer and has been competing in mixed martial arts since 2008.

Cyborg was the Strike Force Featherweight Champion and was named the 2010 female fighter of the year before the company folded. She then fought with Invicta Fighting Championships from 2013-2015 before heading to the UFC.

With WrestleMania 34 only five months away, I don’t believe a match between Cyborg and Rousey would happen in 2018. Now 2019, that could be a possibility.

But I also wonder if WWE would only allow Cyborg to fight at WrestleMania if she’s ready to give up her UFC career in order to train as a wrestler, so the fans wouldn't be disappointed with how she looks in the ring. The last thing she needs is to embarrass herself as a wrestler as well as WWE, especially during such a big event.
