Has Floyd Mayweather Jr. handpicked another foe for what is expected to be his last bout?
Mayweather steps into the ring on Sept. 12, and according to The Sweet Science, the 48-0 superstar will be squaring off against Andre Berto on CBS.
The fight, however, is far from being a done deal, and nothing has been made official yet.
Berto is 30-3 in his professional boxing career, recently defeating Josesito Lopez for the interim WBA Welterweight title earlier this year. Many pundits expected Amir Khan to face Mayweather in his final stride.
If the fight does happen, CBS as a carrier would be vastly different platform than Showtime, Mayweather's recent home. "Money," on the other hand, has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons, stripped of his championship he won against Manny Pacquiao and dissed by Ronda Rousey at the ESPY Awards.
