Before Ronda Rousey, Gina Carano was the one who put female MMA fighting on the map. As such, she knows just what Rousey is feeling following her upset loss to Holly Holm as Carano went through the same (albeit with less media attention) as she was beaten down by Cris Cyborg in one round in 2010. In a recent interview, Carano opened up about it:
“My heart truly does feel for Ronda. I know what it’s like to get beat, on a very public scale and not do even 25-percent of what you know you can. I know what it’s like to want to do so damn good for all the people who found inspiration in your life and what you’ve done and almost want to do it more for them than yourself.
“I hope she surrounds herself with love and light to heal the brokenness she might feel. It can only make her better in every way if she allows it.”
Carano also claimed she told Dana White a year ago Holly Holm was "legit" but White just laughed off the idea of Holm beating Rousey. Carano has moved on to acting with a role in the upcoming "Deadpool" movie and one hopes Rousey doesn't follow her move of immediately quitting fighting.
