Prior to her quick & easy win at UFC 190, Ronda Rousey had already said that she was planning on leaving her championship belt in Brazil following her victory: "I’ve decided that after I win, I’m going to make sure that when I have the belt, and I won’t take it home with me." “I’m going to give it and make sure that it stays someplace in Brazil as my gift."
And that is exactly what she did. Yesterday she brought the belt to the Reaction Institute - a judo school in Rio de Janeiro run by Olympic judoka medalist Flavio Canto.
She posted this picture on Instagram with the words: "Gifting the belt to @institutoreacao yesterday - these kids are so inspiring, the facility is amazing, couldn't think of a better place for it"
In the video above you can see a short clip of her handing the belt over to Flavio
And for those of you wondering... Yes, this is the same judo school to which Rousey donated $30,000 in March.
Below is the Instagram image from that visit. And accompanying that picture she wrote: "The gloves from my last fight sold for 30k, and after visiting @flaviocanto's @institutoreacao I could think of no better cause to donate to. The look on his face was priceless ☺️ Can't wait to visit the kids again fresh off another win after #ufc190"
