How Did Shamrock/Slice Do For Spike TV?

via bjpenn.com

I know a lot of people weren't happy with the Ken Shamrock vs. Kimbo Slice fight last Friday night, but you know what people were super happy with it? The folks at Spike TV, thats who!

Spike TV sent out an official press release and in it they tell us that the full Bellator 138 broadcast averaged 1.6 million viewers and the Shamrock/Slice main event "delivered 2.1 million viewers (11:45pm-12:00am)." Those numbers make it the most-watched event in Bellator MMA history.

Also, "The overall Bellator 138 card.... "was #1 with Men 18-49 in all of television in its timeslot. It also ranked #1 with Adults 18-49 on cable in the timeslot."

And remember, those are average numbers, meaning the peak numbers will be higher. And just to give you something to compare it to: the high numbers before this event were for Bellator 131: Ortiz vs. Bonnar which got a 1.2 million average and peaked at 2 million for the main event.

Also, this main event is the most watched MMA fight on cable TV since the January UFC fight between Conor McGregor and Dennis Siver which raked in 2.7 million viewers on Fox Sports 1.
