What Was This Brazilian Fighter Dealing With When She Won An MMA Title?

Back on May 17th, Brazilian MMA fighter Kinberly Novaes defeated Renata Baldan and won the Noxii 115lbs title in Brazil. What she didn't know at the time, was that she was 12 weeks pregnant. I wonder if TLC is going to contact her for their show, "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant."

Kinberly only found out she was with child a few days ago when she was having real problems cutting weight for an upcoming fight she had scheduled for August 21. The fight was to be against Jocelyn Lybarger and it would have been her RFA debut.

During her title-winning fight Novaes was kicked in the stomach multiple times and was also body-slammed to the ground. But, as far as the health of the child is concerned, Novaes told that, thankfully, everything looks good:

"We did a morphology ultrasound last week and the doctor said I'm 24 weeks pregnant, almost six months, and my baby is healthy and strong... I was worried because I trained hard, fought, cut weight. I suffered a lot to make weight for my last fight, couldn't dehydrate properly, and I was already training to fight again next week, but the doctor said everything is fine."
