The Monday Night Wars between WWE and WCW brought out the best in both companies, and the fans benefited from their rivalry by getting to witness some of the best matches and storylines from both sides as they continually tried to surpass each other. The companies took shots at each other on multiple occasions, and WCW held the edge over WWE for many weeks in the ratings until WWE finally got the lead and ended up purchasing its competition in 2001.

Vince McMahon proved to be highly competitive during the Monday Night Wars, and even after the acquisition of WCW he took the liberty to bury his competition on any opportunity he could get. Let's take a look at ten such occasions we forgot when Vince McMahon completely belittled WCW.

10 The Huckster & The Nacho Man

Hulk Hogan and The Macho Man Randy Savage were two of the pillars of WWE television during their time with the company. They attained superstardom while working for Vince McMahon's company and the latter also made tons of money with the duo's popularity. However, when Hogan and Savage left WWE to sign with WCW, Vince McMahon didn't take kindly to their actions and didn't shy away from burying his former top stars on live television.

WWE started airing segments titled Billionaire Ted's Rasslin' Warroom, depicting parodies of WCW owner Ted Turner. McMahon introduced parody versions of Hogan and Savage as The Huckster and Nacho Man and continuously made fun of their ages, Hogan's bald spot, and Savage's divorce from Miss Elizabeth.

9 Triple H Defeating Sting

WCW legend Sting refrained from signing with WWE after the company purchased WCW in 2001. Despite entering into negotiations with WWE after the acquisition, Sting withdrew his interest and instead went on to compete for the new promotion TNA.

It would take thirteen more years before Sting would finally arrive in WWE as he made his long-awaited debut at the 2014 Survivor Series PPV. He had his in-ring debut for WWE at WrestleMania 31 against Triple H, and while the fans expected The Icon to go over The Game, Vince McMahon swerved fans and had Triple H defeat Sting at the event, and also had JBL bury Sting on commentary.

8 Booker T Getting Buried By Major WWE Stars

Booker T was one of the biggest stars on the WCW roster and won a total of 21 championships during his time in the company, including four WCW World Championships.

WWE picked up his contract after the acquisition and had him make his debut on the 2001 King of the Ring PPV. While the fans expected WWE to give Booker T the same treatment as WCW, Vince McMahon had other ideas and had Booker T lose several high-profile matches, including losses against The Rock and Triple H in big championship matches.

7 Ruining The nWo

NWO WWE

The New World Order was one of the most iconic factions in pro wrestling history as Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash dominated WCW with their heel antics and by holding the main event picture hostage.

WWE brought in Hall, Hogan, and Nash after the acquisition and had the group debut at the 2002 No Way Out PPV. WWE made several questionable decisions while booking the group and, in the end, disbanded them in a bland promo segment after Kevin Nash tore his quad.

6 Triple H Defeating Goldberg

Goldberg became one of the most legendary wrestlers in WCW history during his time in the promotion, and his iconic undefeated streak propelled him into superstardom and also drew lots of viewers to the shows. The former WCW Champion made his debut for WWE in 2003 and immediately started a storyline with The Rock. The fans expected WWE to promote Goldberg in the same dominant fashion WCW portrayed him on television and even expected a revival of his undefeated streak in WWE.

However, when he challenged Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship inside the Elimination Chamber at the 2003 SummerSlam PPV, the fans expected Goldberg to walk out with the gold. But to everyone's surprise, Vince McMahon chose to put Triple H over the WCW legend and had The Game beat Goldberg with a sledgehammer shot to retain the title.

5 Scott Steiner Getting Buried

Similar to Goldberg, Scott Steiner was also one of the veterans of WCW and is a former multiple-time champion for the company, including one reign as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion.

Steiner returned to WWE in 2002 and soon got placed into a high-profile rivalry with Triple H over the World Heavyweight Championship. While the fans thought Steiner would give some tough competition for The Game, Vince McMahon was in no mood to put a WCW star over his guy and had Triple H come out victorious in the rivalry. He then put Steiner in lackluster storylines, which eventually led to him getting released from the company in 2004.

In one such segment, he impersonated his father, Dusty Rhodes, by coming out wearing polka dot gear and to his old theme song. The fans thought the segment was done in poor taste as The American Dream was with WCW and the father-son duo had a really strained relationship at that point.

3 Eric Bischoff's Embarrassing Booking

Vince McMahon shocked the fans when he signed former WCW President Eric Bischoff to a contract in 2002 and introduced him as the new General Manager of Monday Night Raw.

Bischoff gave severe headaches to McMahon during the Monday Night Wars and even used several questionable tactics to hurt the WWE product. But McMahon had the last laugh when he hired his old counterpart as an employee and then booked him in several humiliating storylines, including having Bischoff's head shaved on live television and tossing him inside a garbage truck.

2 Fake Razor Ramon & Diesel

After Scott Hall and Kevin Nash left WWE for WCW in 1996, Vince McMahon chose to take a shot at his former employees by having Kane and Rick Bognar portray a parody version of Nash and Hall's WWE gimmicks Diesel and Razor Ramon.

The angle wasn't well-received by the fans and other wrestling personalities and was considered a cheap move by Vince McMahon to get back at Hall and Nash for leaving WWE to join his major competition. But McMahon continued to have Kane and Bognar portray the fake Diesel and Razor Ramon until the 1997 Royal Rumble PPV.

1 Gillberg

Gillberg

When Goldberg started to rise in stardom as the next face of WCW, the fans started comparing him to the WWE stars and were talking about how WCW was booking him in a more dominant way than WWE was booking their stars. Instead of focusing on their product, WWE chose to hinder Goldberg's momentum by bringing in a parody version of him under the name Gillberg on Raw.

Gillberg mocked Goldberg's entrance and used hilarious facial expressions to take a dig at Goldberg's taunts. But despite WWE's efforts, Goldberg continued to be the top star in WCW and brought in good numbers for the company until its demise in 2001.
