Citing an inability to send the message he needs to, Mustafa Ali posted on social media Sunday morning that he will be requesting his release from WWE.

He wrote in a graphic that "I have a message that is much bigger than my dreams in pro wrestling. Despite my best efforts, I will not be able to deliver this message while working with WWE. Therefore, I am requesting my release from WWE." As of the time of this report, is not believed that this message from the often-underutilized WWE talent is a storyline.

Ali is an extremely talented in-ring worker who has not had much success getting a sustained push by WWE. Still, while he's not been used on Raw or SmackDown regularly, he has been able to maintain his employment with the sports entertainment company while a number of other talents were released due to "budget cuts." Clearly, Ali wants more than just continued employment and is looking for an opportunity to do bigger things.

His message suggests his next steps might not be related to the wrestling industry. While he specifically targets WWE when he says he's not been able to send his message while working there, he also notes that he has bigger dreams than the ones that come from the wrestling industry.

A few days ago, Ali posted a message to Marvel Studios trying to get their attention about a role in the new Blade movies. He retweeted a post from Cinematic Hub that wrote, "Blade is casting for a South Asian male, 20s-30s. The actor must be open to training although actors with fight experience are encouraged for the role!" He wrote in response, "Hello Marvel, I think you’re looking for me. #BLADE."

Best Of Luck To Ali

WWE has not responded and there's no information on whether or not he's actually asked for his release yet and if it has or will be granted. WWE has denied these requests before, but in recent months, most of the stars who have wanted out and seen their release requests granted.
