All the money in the world doesn't make an individual immune from consequences, although, it does help. The NBA is home to some of the greatest athletes on the planet, as night in and night out, fans get to see stars such as LeBron James and Kevin Durant dominate on the basketball court.

Sadly, some players take that intensity that's on the court, off of it, and have run into many legal troubles. Ahead of the return of the basketball season, it's a good time to take back at the players who had the worst legal issues throughout their NBA careers.

One of the most innocent crimes committed by an NBA player was done by LiAngelo Ball. By far the least accomplished of the Ball brothers, the shooting guard has spent some time with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Charlotte Bobcats.

In college when playing for UCLA, he was arrested alongside other teammates for stealing in China. Despite facing a lengthy prison stint, Ball and others were released after the United States federal government interfered and secured their release.

Charles Barkley has chilled out a lot over the years and has grown into his role as a host on TNT. However, he wasn't always this way. The former All-Star power forward has a lengthy history with the law, as he used to have some anger issues.

During his playing career, Barkley was arrested twice for assault. After retiring, he was arrested as well. In 2008, Barkley was arrested for two counts of DUI and running a red light. Luckily, that was the last time he had any trouble with the law.

8 Michael Beasley

Michael Beasley has had a bit of a strange NBA career to put it lightly. Once a highly-regarded prospect, his inconsistency saw him bounce around the league for a long time. However, over time he emerged as a great scoring option off the bench.

Along with the inconsistency, Beasley's legal issues impacted him greatly as well. He has quite a lengthy arrest sheet, as he's been arrested several times for marijuana. He was also accused of sexual assault in 2014.

Unlike Michael Beasley, Carmelo Anthony hasn't allowed his legal issues regarding marijuana to ruin his career. Early in his career in Denver, the All-Star was dominating the league. However, he was far from perfect, as evidenced by his legal issues.

In 2004, Anthony was arrested for marijuana possession at an airport. Two years later, he was nearly arrested for his role in the infamous brawl with the New York Knicks. Lastly, Anthony was arrested for DUI in Denver in 2008, but he's not gotten into any trouble since then.

Allen Iverson is one of the greatest and most electric players to ever step on the basketball court. In his prime with the Philadelphia 76ers, he seemed unstoppable at times and even led a horrific squad to the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Also during his prime, Iverson was a reckless guy off the court. Throughout the years, the former All-Star has been accused of everything from assault to kidnapping. Although, his ex-wife later recanted her accusation stating that Iverson kidnapped their daughter.

Shawn Kemp, affectionately known as "Reign Man" during his NBA stint, was an absolute force. The multiple-time All-Star selection had memorable stints with the Seattle Supersonics, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Portland Trail Blazers.

A couple of years after his career came to a close, Kemp had some high-profile arrests. In 2005, he was arrested for drug possession, with a follow-up charge for possession of marijuana coming a year later.

4 Chris Webber

Chris Webber was one of the more colorful personalities in the NBA during his stint from 1993 to 2008. The multiple-time All-Star was a dominant star at his peak and found a way to stick around the league as a solid role player down the stretch.

Beyond the court, Webber has also helped produce rap albums and even made one himself in 1999. One year prior to his debut rap album, the NBA star found himself in trouble off the court, as he was arrested for assault, possession of marijuana, and DUI.

Gilbert Arenas was a wild man during his NBA career from 2001 to 2012. "Agent Zero" was an excellent scorer, and he commanded big money during his prime. In 2008, Arenas signed a six-year, $111-million dollar contract for the Washington Wizards, in a deal that went on to be one of the worst ever.

The reason why that deal was one of the worst ever is thanks to Arenas' high-profile arrest just one year into the contract. He and teammate Javaris Crittenton were arrested after drawing guns on each other in the Wizard's locker room. They were both suspended for the rest of the 2010 season.

2 Ron Artest

Ron Artest is one of the most interesting players in recent NBA history. Early in his career, he had the makings of a superstar, but it appeared that he could never get out of his own way. Despite controversy after controversy and even a name change, he lasted in the league for nearly two decades.

Along with the controversies were a few legal issues. Artest was arrested for domestic violence in 2007 and was also forced to relinquish ownership of his dog the same year for neglect. He somehow avoided legal issues for his role in the Malice at the Palace.

Dennis Rodman is one of the most well-known athletes to ever step on the basketball court, and for good reason. In addition to being an NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons, he also starred on many reality shows, was a pro wrestler, and is even friends with Kim Jong-Un.

Rodman is also known for his lengthy run-ins with the law. Throughout his life, the former All-Star has been arrested for everything from drunk driving, to a hit-and-run, and battery.
