Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has paced this team to a respectable 2-1-1 start, but the two-time league MVP has had some harsh words for the offense despite its promising start.

Per ESPN.com's Rob Demovsky, Rodgers said the Packers "were terrible on offense" after a 22-0 home win vs. the Buffalo Bills, and added they should have registered"about 45 points and 600 yards."

But speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Rodgers wanted to emphasize that there is no tension between he and Mike McCarthy, even though the former is obviously frustrated with the performance on offense.

"Mike and I talk all the time; we have a great relationship," Rodgers said, via Herbie Teope of NFL.com. "There's always been great communication between us, even if there is things that we need to talk about that are tough subjects, we've never had a problem finding time and talking. That's the way it's been for 10-plus years."

This is Rodgers' 11th season as the starter in Green Bay. The team has made the playoffs eight times under his watch, and it includes three trips to the NFC Championship Game and a Super Bowl 45 championship. Given their perennial success together, the Rodgers-McCarthy relationship shouldn't be questioned right now.

McCarthy himself added that he feels "good about" his relationship with Rodgers. Considering the two haven't had any notable blowups on the sidelines or anything like that, we probably should take the two by their word.

The Packers are only half a game behind the Chicago Bears for the NFC North lead, and that's despite Rodgers and co. yet to hit their full stride. We know this offense is capable of being a top-five unit, while the rebuilt defense is gradually getting better every week.

Rodgers and the Packers have shown that they'll be a force in the NFC this season. Even if he lashed out at the team's performance from time to time, don't take it as a sign that he and McCarthy are at odds.

The two couldn't be any more respectful and admirable of one another.
