Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was seen wearing a brace on his knee before the team's Week 2 contest with the Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field, per Tom Pelissero.

Rodgers left the first half of last week's game against the Chicago Bears after suffering a knee injury. The two-time MVP had to be carted off, and the immediate concern was that his season was over.

In typical Rodgers fashion, he came back for the second half and led the Packers to an epic 24-23 comeback victory, erasing a 20-0 deficit. His status for Sunday's game was up in the air throughout the week, but he got the green light and will continue to try and play through the pain.

After leading the Packers to an excellent 4-1 start last season, Rodgers fractured his collarbone against the rival Vikings. He wouldn't return until Week 15 against the Carolina Panthers, but Rodgers was completely ineffective in a 31-24 loss, and was eventually shut down for the season.

The Packers fell apart without Rodgers last season, as backup Brett Hundley struggled to replace the game's top quarterback. Not only that, but the defense and ground game were also ineffective, giving the Packers almost no fighting hope of making the playoffs.

Rodgers led Green Bay to the playoffs every year from 2009-2016, taking them to three NFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl 45 victory. There's simply no replacing a player of his caliber, and the Packers are simply a mediocre team without Rodgers on the field.

The Packers will have to monitor the situation with Rodgers closely as the season progresses. They may want to limit his snaps and overall workload if the knee continues to hamper him, especially in blowout games.

For now, Rodgers is going to do what Rodgers does best: Fight through the pain and lead his team to wins, even if he's only playing on one healthy leg.
