AEW announced on Wednesday they have finalized their broadcast team for Double or Nothing. Among the names included in their list is Jim Ross, who also signed a three-year deal with the company.

After posting Episode 10 of The Road to Double or Nothing video, Cody Rhodes tweeted on Wednesday that AEW had it's new broadcast team in place for Double or Nothing and among them was WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross. When asked why Jim Ross, Cody simply said, "Because it's F---N' Jim Ross".

As you can see in the video above, Rhodes opened the episode and said, "I'm excited about today. Today we get to go out there and finalize our broadcast team. Today we put lyrics to the music." Meaning, AEW was taking as seriously the hiring of behind-the-scenes talent and commentators as they were in-ring performers.

The video went on to show that Alicia A was going to be a backstage correspondent, Alex Marvez was being brought in as a new commentator, Justin Roberts will be the new ring announcer and the big get, was that AEW confirmed Ross as a commentator.

It was reported earlier this week by Ross himself that an announcement on his future with AEW was coming. Less than 24 hours later, the rumors were confirmed. Not part of the video was the fact that it appears Ross has signed one of the most lucrative deals in commentating history, signing a three-year contract.

This is a big day for Ross who said in the video, he didn't want to "give his jersey away" because it meant he couldn't play anymore. While some have argued the business has passed him by a little and WWE certainly was ok with letting him go, Ross still believes he has a lot to offer the wrestling business. He wants to work with a company that offers a new look to professional wrestling and this opportunity with AEW was simply more than he could pass up.

What This Means

This is big for AEW and adds a ton of credibility to their already growing reputation. If the rumors are that they paid handsomely to get Ross, it will be interesting to see how this deal pays off in the long-run. Ross isn't what he once was in commentary but he's still among the best ever to do the job.
