Brandi Rhodes had a big surprise for the three women who competed in AEW's first ever women's match.

AEW has made a lot of claims and a lot of promises since its existence was first announced at the turn of the year. One of those promises was a focus on its women's division. In particular, Brandi Rhodes has been focusing a lot of her energy on that side of things. AEW also revealed that it had signed its first female wrestler right off the bat, Britt Baker.

Baker was also revealed to be one of three participants in AEW's first ever women's match at Double Or Nothing. A triple threat between Baker, Nyla Rose, and Kylie Rae. The three very different wrestlers proudly made their way to the ring at the MGM Grand Arena on Saturday night.

However, before they could get underway, Rhodes joined the fray. Dressed in ring gear, it seemed as if she was going to enter herself into the match. That was not the case. Instead, it turned out to be a twist akin to that of when New Day introduced The Hardy Boyz at WrestleMania 33. In this instance, instead of The Hardyz, it was former WWE and Impact Wrestling competitor Awesome Kong.

Aside from the odd appearance, it's the first time Kong has wrestled since 2016. She looked more than ready to go at Double Or Nothing though, and we're assuming she has signed a contract with AEW. If she has, she will have her sights firmly set on Baker. AEW's first ever female signing became AEW's first ever female winner by pinning a downed Kylie Rae.

Aside from the initial announcement and the revelation of this triple threat, AEW's women's division hasn't had a massive amount of build. This match changed that. Not just via the addition of Kong, but also thanks to the action provided by all four women. No word yet on an AEW Women's Title, but as of right now, our money would be on Baker being the first to hold that championship somewhere down the line.
