AEW has to be smart when it comes to its advertising, and we think airing ads during Hobbs & Shaw screenings is a stroke of genius.

It is now less than two months until AEW's weekly TV show debuts on TNT. As far as action goes, the only chance the fledgling promotion will have to show off what it's all about to potential fans is All Out. The PPV is scheduled to take place on August 31, and will almost definitely be the biggest AEW show to date.

Aside from that, AEW will have to rely on good old fashioned advertising. It has already proven itself to be pretty effective in that arena over the past few months. The promotion has a lot of money behind it, a core group of EVPs that are very social media savvy, and it also made its last two shows free to watch for fans in the US and Canada.

AEW's ultimate aim is to reach fans who have become disillusioned with wrestling. Perhaps even fans who stopped watching years ago. One of the ways in which it has been advertising this past weekend might well bring in those forgotten fans. According to Ringside News, an ad for AEW has been airing before screenings of Hobbs & Shaw at AMC movie theaters.

Whether you have seen the movie or not, you will likely be aware that it stars both The Rock and Roman Reigns. That means not only is AEW reaching non-wrestling fans and lapsed ones, but also casual WWE fans who are going to see the movie due to it starring two of WWE's biggest stars. Chances are various people from all three of those demographics will see the ad and maybe even give AEW a chance on October 2.

How AEW will do once it is airing live every week really is the great unknown. If its PPV numbers up until this point in time, and the action on them, is anything to go by, the future looks bright. With stars such as Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and Jim Ross committing to the company for the long term, you'd have to imagine that AEW has a pretty solid plan in place for the coming years.
