AEW has started making official announcements when it comes to which stars will be on their first tv show in October, and what they'll be doing.

AEW is going all out (pun intended) with their card for the very first episode of their new TV show on TNT. Already announced will be Cody Rhodes taking on Sammy Guevara and an appearance by Jon Moxley live. AEW has added a huge third announcement.

On Wednesday, AEW took to Twitter to announce that The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega would be partners in a six-man tag match versus Chris Jericho and two mystery partners.

Who those partners will be is unclear but it could be anyone from a debuting team that has not appeared in AEW yet or it could be a team that has issues with The Young Bucks. Leading up to October 2nd, there will be tons of speculation as to whom these mystery partners are if AEW doesn't reveal their identities ahead of time. Jericho doesn't have a ton of friends in AEW so could he be bringing in a team from somewhere else?

Over the course of AEW's history, teams like The Revival, Big Cass and Enzo and others have been rumored to be considered for jobs and offers in AEW. Neither are terribly likely. Could it be LAX? Speculation is they will be leaving IMPACT Wrestling and joining either WWE or AEW. Jericho did later tease he would be bringing someone in that isn't already part of the company.

What This Means

This is a smart play by AEW. Some fans will say this is AEW's way to bringing mystery to a match that will likely include the Lucha Bros but that won't change the buzz being built around the show.

The company needs to make their first show a huge success so that fans will tune into the others that follow. Having a big debut is something fans can typically get behind and promote on behalf of the company. It should equal big ratings.
