On Twitch, current WWE Intercontinental Champion AJ Styles, 43, recently answered some questions from fans and played video games. Asked what his all-time favorite match was, he named the TNA/Impact TLC match with Jon Moxley, aka Dean Ambrose.
Styles famously ripped his pants when he was tossed through some chairs by Moxley during the match for the WWE title, which he won in 2016. In the future, he would like to face off against NXT World Champion Keith Lee. His biggest dream, though, is to fight WWE Hall Of Famer Edge.
Edge, 46, is currently inactive after suffering a torn triceps. On the May 11 episode of Raw, Edge faced Randy Orton in a traditional singles match at Backlash, which Edge lost. Afterward, it was reported that he had been hurt and that the injury would keep him out of the ring for four to eight months.
Styles, though, wants a match with Edge before they both retire. Edge, a 14th Triple Crown Champion and 7th Grand Slam Champion at WWE, has also expressed an interest in going up against Styles, who has recently been called "the best wrestler on two feet" by Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Edge has noted that in 25 years of wrestling, they’ve never gone head to head. He would also like to take on Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Cesaro, Nakumura, Sami Zayn, Aleister Black, Matt Riddle, WALTER, Tommaso Ciampa and Velveteen Dream.
Recently, Styles responded to Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson who hoped that he would make a move to Impact, which they recently joined. Gallows and Anderson, who were dismissed from WWE during the coronavirus lockdown due to budget cuts, consider Styles a great friend.
Yet The Phenomenal One has stated that he would like to finish his career in WWE. He did give fans who would like the trio to reunite hope, saying “never say never” so there is still a chance that we could see the three wrestlers in the ring again.
