The Undertaker saving Aleister Black from The OC was originally going to be so much more than a one-night deal.

Aleister Black was released by WWE earlier this month and since then, he has been incredibly open about his departure. Not only does Black appear to hold no ill-will towards his former employers, but he has divulged a great deal of the plans that never came to fruition during this time with the company.

Aleister Black And The Undertaker

One of the more interesting tidbits revealed by Black so far was a story about his pitch to work with The Undertaker. "One of the pitches was that towards the end of that match, the Good Brothers would come out or something to that extent, and I would be the one to help Taker," Black revealed during an appearance on Oral Sessions.

The match Black is referencing here is the one AJ Styles and The Undertaker had at WrestleMania 36. While he doesn't say it specifically, it sounds like at the time he made the pitch to be a part of their WrestleMania clash, the pandemic hadn't taken hold so the plans for a Boneyard Match were yet to manifest. However, whether it was a normal match or not, whoever Black pitched it to apparently considered the idea.

Helping Out The Deadman

If you cast your minds back, you'll remember The Undertaker actually lending Black a helping hand during the build to what would be his final ever match. Black had wrestled Styles and was attacked by The Good Brothers. After being helped out by The Deadman, Black thought it would be a good idea for him to return the favor on the grandest stage of them all. Sadly, the idea was considered but never came to fruition.

Towards the end of Black's career, some fans thought the Dark Father character being referenced may have been The Undertaker. Since Black has been so open about his time in WWE, it feels like he would have mentioned that already at some point if it was indeed what was planned. As for something fans completely missed, Black has revealed during his knock on the door promos, he would change the color of the lighting to signify who he would be targeting next.
