The Dallas Cowboys' struggles at wide receiver have been well-documented, but the rebuilding Oakland Raiders could provide quarterback Dak Prescott with the playmaker he desperately needs.

According to ESPN.com's Adam Schefter, the Cowboys have "have researched" Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper "extensively in recent days." The Washington Redskins and Indianapolis have also inquired about the 24-year-old, per Schefter.

Last week, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported that the Raiders were shopping Cooper and safety Karl Joseph. The team already made a blockbuster deal under head coach Jon Gruden, sending elite pass rusher Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears for four draft picks.

Gruden denied reports that the team was looking to trade the 24-year-old Cooper, one of the game's most dynamic young wideouts. He registered 1,000-yard seasons in his rookie and sophomore campaigns, but is struggling in 2018 with just 22 catches for 280 yards and one touchdown.

The Cowboys are off to a mere 3-3 start on the season, and the lack of production from its wideouts are a key reason why. Cole Beasley leads the team with 26 catches for 294 yards and a pair of touchdowns. A trade for speedster Tavon Austin and the signing of Allen Hurns haven't paid dividends, and the offense is still too reliant on the ground game.

Whether the Raiders are considering shopping Cooper or not remains to be seen, but if Gruden can trade a former Defensive Player of the Year in his prime, then nobody on Oakland is untouchable.

Dallas sits at 3-3 as they prepare for their Week 7 contest with Washington. The NFC East is a close three-way race between those two clubs and the Philadelphia Eagles. But if the Cowboys are to make a serious run at the division, they'll need to start getting the most out of their wide receivers.

But perhaps a trade for Cooper is the solution for Dallas' struggles at wide receiver.
