Perhaps no fan bases have had to endure so much frustration, heartbreak and dysfunction over the years like those who support the New York Knicks, and one lifetime follower has given up on them.

A Knicks fan (username "evanperl"), took to eBay and is literally selling off his 33-year allegiance to the team. The description also reads that the highest bidder will also determine which team he cheers for from now on.

This long-suffering fan went in great detail (10 long paragraphs plus short sentences and other notes), about his years of frustration with the organization. The description starts off with "I hate the Knicks. I love the Knicks, but I hate the Knicks," so it's easy to tell just how difficult of a relationship he's had with New York.

The Knicks last won the NBA Championship in 1973, and their most recent trip to the Finals was in 1999, where they lost to the San Antonio Spurs in five games. Since that time, the Knicks have only made the playoffs six times. They've won just three playoff series over that time, and the Knicks have seen a great deal of star players depart, failing to build a contender around them.

The long-struggling organization has done a bunch of different things to try and change their fortunes.  This included trading for former MVP Derrick Rose and defensive stalwart Joakim Noah from the Chicago Bulls in 2016, and hiring legendary NBA coach Phil Jackson as their team president in 2014.

But whatever the Knicks have tried, it simply hasn't worked. With the hiring of David Fizdale this offseason, the franchise is on its sixth head coach since 2012. Though Kristaps Porzingis is growing into a star on his own, the Knicks simply don't have enough talent around him, and it's tough to see a light at the end of the tunnel right now.
