The Arizona Cardinals are off to an embarrassing 0-2 start, and the offense has scored a total of six points under quarterback Sam Bradford.

Many are calling for the Cardinals to play rookie quarterback Josh Rosen instead, all while other rookie quarterbacks in Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold and Josh Allen have already received playing time.

But despite the team's awful start, general manager Steve Keim doesn't think the time is right for the Cardinals to put Rosen behind center, meaning Bradford will keep taking the snaps for now.

"Some guys have played too early and it has crippled their career," Keim said on Arizona Sports 98.7 (h/t Darren Urban of Cardinals.com). "I'm not going to name names, but I think a lot of us can think of certain players. Then there are guys who have come in and had success right away. But usually it's a rocky road."

Bradford has tossed just 243 passing yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions through the first two weeks, posting a mere 27.6 quarterback rating. It's hard to envision the offense being any worse with Rosen under center, but the Cardinals are going to stick with the patient route anyway.

Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports[/caption] The Cardinals made a curious decision to cut star safety Tyrann Mathieu to make room for Bradford, whom they signed to a one-year deal worth $20 million. Bradford was brought in to replace former Pro Bowler Carson Palmer, who retired after the 2017 season. Arizona traded up (via the Oakland Raiders), to select Rosen with the 10th pick. The UCLA product is undoubtedly this team's quarterback of the future, but Cardinals fans just have to keep waiting until the coaching staff is confident that he's ready. If Bradford can turn it around and lead the offense, then there'll be good reason to keep Rosen on the bench. But if the Cardinals are still failing to move the ball and score points, then there'll be no reason to keep Rosen on the sidelines. Arizona hosts the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
