Arn Anderson was recently fired by WWE and even though some have said it was a long time coming, if John Cena was still around, it probably wouldn't have happened.
When it comes to the rumor and innuendo that surrounds professional wrestling there is no other business like it. We hear all sorts of things about the goings-on backstage at WWE. So much, in fact, that it is almost impossible to discern what is real and what isn't unless you hear it from the horse's mouth.
The latest thing to get the WWE rumor mill turning is the firing of Arn Anderson. The former Horseman has been under the employ of WWE ever since WCW shut down. For most of that time, he has worked backstage as a producer. However, a couple of weeks ago Anderson was released, apparently due to him letting Alica Fox perform at a live event while intoxicated.

Aside from the reasoning behind his release, the other rumor is that Vince McMahon had been trying to get rid of Double A for a while. Wrestling Observer Radio recently reported that Anderson had been on "thin ice" for a while and that if it wasn't for John Cena, he would have likely been released a while ago.
"You know if John was there everyone thinks it never would have happened," said WOR's Dave Meltzer. According to Bodyslam.net, Anderson produced pretty much all of Cena's matches which is why the 16-time World Champion might have been able to save his job. Meltzer also added that Triple H has saved Anderson's job more than once, but clearly couldn't do so on this occasion.
One thing's for certain, no matter what happens, no one needs to feel sorry for Double A. We don't mean that in a horrible way either. What we mean is The Enforcer will definitely land on his feet. Wrestling is in better shape now that it has been for 20 years. If there's such a thing as a good time to be fired from WWE, it would be right now. We wouldn't be surprised to hear that AEW has already been in touch with Anderson and is in the process of hiring a terrific wrestling mind.
