A lot of people in their 40’s stop doing the things they used to do in their 20’s, that does not apply with Vince Carter, the GOAT will always be the GOAT.

Yes, Carter might be playing his 21st season in the NBA – apparently his last one, he’s 41 years old – making him the oldest player in the league, and it has been 18 years since he won the Slam Dunk Contest, but none of these stopped him to throw down a perfect windmill dunk on Monday.

Sure, the dunk was during the game warm-ups, but a lot of guys in the league wouldn’t be able to dunk the ball like that even at practice. The windmills have been Vince’s registered trademark dunks even before entering professional basketball when he was playing for North Carolina. A windmill dunk even earned him the first place in the 2000 Dunk Contest, although back then he pulled it off with a higher degree of complexity – while turning 360 degrees against the grain.

When the NBA posted the video in its Twitter account, a lot of fans started to ask for a Slam Dunk Contest comeback this year. The former player and Celtics legend Paul Pierce, during the ESPN show The Jump, claimed that Carter could still win the dunk contest today, to which ESPN’s Rachel Nichols totally agreed with. Even though we would all love to see Vinsanity back in a dunk contest, we doubt very much Vince Carter would risk his legacy as arguably the best dunker all-time, but who knows, maybe a reasonable amount of money could convince him.

This is the 21st season and eighth team of Vince Carter, and even when he hasn’t confirmed if this will be his last season as a professional basketball player, with a one-year deal contract and turning 42 next January, everything would seem to indicate that this could be Vince’s last dance. However, if the former Toronto sensation decides to play a year or two years more it should not surprise us, after all, he’s been a starter for the Atlanta Hawks so far this season.
