New WWE superstar Keith Lee has been making waves since being promoted to the main roster. Lee has picked up some major traction over the last few weeks and it's clear he's a Vince McMahon favorite.

The Limitless one made his main roster debut following SummerSlam and was immediately thrust into the ongoing feud involving Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton. He claimed an impressive win over The Viper at Payback but has been losing via disqualification since then, with McIntyre interrupting two fights with Orton. Retribution also got involved when he took the WWE Champion on during this week's episode of Raw.

The constant no-contest results have left fans wondering just what WWE plans to do with the former NXT Champion. Wrestling Observer Radio's Dave Meltzer has reported that WWE has no clear plans in place for Lee but fully intends to push him.

“I didn’t a sense at all that [Keith is] going heel, but they’re just running by the seat of their pants when it comes to Keith Lee. You can tell," Meltzer said. "There’s no plan in place at all other than he’s still on the list of people they are pushing as opposed to the other guys who are no longer on the list.”

Playing It By Ear

Meltzer has suggested WWE's playing it by ear with Lee but will keep him in the spotlight. Lee was one of the standouts at NXT while he was over there and became the first man to hold the NXT Championship and the North American Championship at the same time.

He's since dropped both belts, relinquishing the latter and losing the former to Karrion Kross at NXT TakeOver XXX last month.

WWE's clearly keen on pushing Lee to the height of heights and we'll likely be able to judge the direction after Clash of Champions. Who knows, though? He could be inserted into the WWE Championship match currently set for McIntyre and Orton.
