Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield will play in just his third NFL game on Sunday when the team hosts the Baltimore Ravens, but he's already caught the eye of the man who's tasked with finding a way to slow him down,

Ravens defensive coordinator Don Martindale offered extremely high praise for Mayfield, telling Jeff Zreibiec of The Athletic that he thinks the rookie signal-caller "is this generation’s Brett Favre or John Elway if you will."

Mayfield has dazzled with his excellent scrambling and mobility in the pocket, comparable to the skills that both Favre and Elway possessed in their careers. If Mayfield's first two starts are an indication of what's to come in Cleveland, then the Browns will have found themselves a franchise quarterback to build around.

In Week 3, Mayfield replaced an injured and struggling Tyrod Taylor and completed 17 passes for 201 yards, leading the franchise to its first win since Week 6 of the 2016 season. It was not a case of beginner's luck, however.

Mayfield had a field day against the Oakland Raiders in Week 4, tossing 21 completions for 295 yards and two touchdowns, though he also threw a pair of interceptions. Nonetheless, so far Mayfield has looked like the player this team hoped for when they drafted him first overall.

Now, Mayfield has a long way to go before we can start comparing him to Favre and Elway - both Super Bowl Champions and Hall of Famers. But so far, the Browns simply have to love what they've seen, especially considering the long list of Cleveland quarterbacks that have flopped over the past 15 years.

Mayfield and the Browns sit at 1-2-1 entering Week 5, but the team is keeping themselves in game with a much better offense and suffocating pass rush. If Mayfield can continue this style of play, the Browns are going to be exciting to watch for once.
