Sasha Banks is taking time off to ponder her future in the WWE, but if she decides to come back, there might be one concerning issue.
On the Oh, You Didn’t Know podcast (h/t Ringside News), Brad Shepard said that Banks has real backstage tension with Alexa Bliss - and that The Legit Boss "has to be kept separate" from her "for the time being."
Shepard also added that one source said Banks was being "really childish," and that the former Raw Women's Champion "is not able to see the bigger picture." So yes, things appear to be extremely tense for Banks backstage.
You may recall that after WrestleMania 35, Bliss and Banks got into a Twitter war of words. It ended with Bliss blocking Banks on Twitter - but nobody could know for sure if it was serious or just the two of them playing their characters.
Banks has been kept off of Monday Night Raw the last two weeks; Dave Meltzer was first to report that she was granted time away to think about her future. Banks was extremely dissatisfied to learn that her and Bayley would be losing the Women's Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 35 to The IIconics.
Apparently, Banks and Bayley believed they would endure a long reign with the titles - but the run ended after just 49 days. After 'Mania, Banks canceled her appearance on the Wendy Williams Show and has since posted a handful of cryptic messages on social media.
Banks has been one of the most successful and beloved wrestlers in the women's division since being called up to the main roster. But if WWE wants to retain her long-term, they're going to have to find a way to please her after some questionable booking decisions.
What This Means
Bliss stayed on Monday Night Raw following the Superstar Shake-Up, and if Banks returns, it'll be interesting to see where she winds up. Should she stay on Raw, it'll mean that Banks and Bliss will have to either avoid each other at all costs or find a way to move past their tension. Needless to say, things are very unpredictable right now.
