Baron Corbin won the Triple Threat match on Monday's Raw to advance to the finals of the King of the Ring Tournament. He might just be the favorite to win the entire tournament.
The Triple Threat Match came about last week when Ricochet and Samoa Joe ended in a no-contest finish. Referee John Cone went to the replay footage and called the WWE "war room" before it was determined both men would move on. Despite the fact this hurt Corbin's chances, he was able to overcome and will move on to face whomever advances from SmackDown Live on Tuesday.
A hard-fought match and a very strong showing by Corbin, it's quickly becoming evident Corbin may be one of the more underrated wrestlers in WWE. A number of high spots and intense action Corbin was able to sneak back into the ring to end the match by pinning Samoa Joe.
All Hail King Corbin?
Baron Corbin might have been one of the least popular choices to win King of the Ring but he also might be one of the most deserving. He's done nothing but seizes every opportunity WWE has given him and really shown he can be a reliable mid-carder or main event heel, taking on all comers and working in all situations. If he's given the title of King in WWE, there's no doubt he may do more with that opportunity than anyone.
Who will he face in the finals which is set to take place at Clash of Champions this Sunday? It will either be Chad Gable or Elias and with Corbin in, the favorite will probably be Gable as the underdog that no one thought would be in this position when the tournament participants were announced.
Should he advance, can Gable keep the streak going and defeat Baron Corbin?
