Reports are Dave Bautista (Batista) is in serious talks to return to WWE for WrestleMania 35, but also that he might be mulling over another offer.

It was reported earlier on Monday by Pro Wrestling Sheet that Bautista is in talks but nothing is yet set in stone. Part of the reason a deal has not been finalized is that it appears Bautista is also considering an offer from another wrestling promotion.

As many might have guessed, that promotion is All Elite Wrestling.

The wrestling site describes the odds of Batista return as 50/50 to WWE and that he's definitely not ruling out an offer from the new promotion run by Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega and backed by the billionaire Khan family. Should Batista come, he would be the second mainstream signing by the company after AEW brought in Chris Jericho.

Original plans for Batista appeared to be a match between himself and Triple H, but shortly after Batista appeared on the 1000th episode of SmackDown Live, Triple H got injured at WWE Crown Jewel. That seemingly put an end to the Batista speculation.

What This Means

WWE has either still wanted Batista despite the Triple H setback or they're worried about the emergence of AEW and the rumored pending television deal. Triple H has been cleared to train again so perhaps there's some thought he'll be ready for a match by the time WrestleMania 35 rolls around.

It would be interesting to see how fans would react if Batista chose AEW over WWE. Would they be excited by the prospect of another huge former WWE name in the company? Or, does it only make sense to bring Batista back to his home to wrestle Triple H? After all, Batista did say that if he were to return, he wanted it to be in a program with The Game.
