Batista is hoping Marvel doesn't forget about Drax after Guardians 3, but also doesn't want to reprise the role should The Destroyer get his very own movie.

While The Rock might be able to boast the most successful transition from wrestling to Hollywood, Batista can hold one very major accomplishment over his head. A role in the MCU. Not just any role, but a starring one. Batista has appeared in multiple Marvel movies as Drax and has become one of the MCU's most beloved characters in the process.

Batista will return as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3. However, the actor has effectively revealed that will be his last appearance in the cinematic universe. That being said, Batista has also admitted he would love to see Drax get his own movie. During an interview with Slash Film, Batista discussed the potential of a standalone story that explores Drax's history as The Destroyer.

However, should Drax eventually get the solo treatment, Batista doesn't want to be the one who portrays the Guardian. "I hope someday that they just recast it and reboot just Drax the Destroyer and focus on that story because it's a great story," Batista said. It isn't often someone lobbies for a character they're not done playing to be played by someone else.

On the wrestling front, Baista has clarified a number of times he has no desire to ever step back between the ropes. There were rumors he was the big name signing AEW teased earlier this year which wound up being Christian Cage. Batista views his retirement match against Triple H to be the perfect way to say goodbye to that chapter of his career, and he might have a point.

As for his future in the film business, Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead, in which Batista has a starring role, comes out later this month. Batista also revealed earlier this week that he will be a part of the Knives Out sequel. Despite retiring from wrestling and wrapping up his time as Drax, Batista is still going to be pretty busy by all accounts.
