WWE didn't want to tag Eva Marie in a video it posted featuring the former Superstar, so Bayley helped them out.

History suggests that no matter what a wrestler does during or after they leave WWE, the door is never truly shut. Bret Hart, Ultimate Warrior, and Bruno Sammartino are examples of that. Even CM Punk sort of returned to the company by appearing intermittently on Backstage. However, it has since been revealed that he was an employee of Fox, not WWE.

Eva Marie hasn't cut ties with WWE in the same way as any of the names mentioned above. However, the continued trajectory of the women's division has many fans thinking there would be no place on the roster for a returning Marie. That hasn't stopped the rumor mill from turning though, and Marie is reportedly close to re-debuting for WWE sometime very soon.

A recent post from WWE on Twitter would suggest otherwise. The clip posted features Bayley defending the NXT Women's Title against Marie with Nia Jax at ringside. WWE has tagged Bayley and Jax, but not even mentioned Marie. The Role Model has decided to take matters into her own hands, retweeting the clip along with a new caption in which Marie has been tagged.

For anyone who might think Marie is done with wrestling since she hasn't competed since her WWE release, you might want to think again. Not only has she responded to Bayley, but she clearly still watches the product as she even included the SmackDown Superstar's signature catchphrase "ding dong". Not confirmation that she is on her way back, but further proof that she is still interested in the business despite stepping away to have a crack at getting into Hollywood.

If Marie is going to return to the ring and prove she can keep up with WWE's current crop of women, now might be the best time to do it. Even though she will likely be peppered with criticism on social media, there is no live crowd to boo her in arenas. As WWE has been doing with other stars, it can pump in whatever crowd reaction it likes, and direct those appearing on ThunderDome screens to react the way they want them to.
