The ending for this week's episode of Monday Night Raw left the WWE Universe in shock, as Sasha Banks successfully recruited Bayley to join the evil side.
Bayley, the long-time fan favorite and babyface, teamed up with Becky Lynch - going up against Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. Banks interfered and began to attack Lynch, and just when it looked like Bayley was about to save the Raw Women's Champion, she wound up joining The Legit Boss in the attack.
Lynch was pummeled with a series of chair shots from Bayley, and the broadcast went off air as the former scrambled around in the ring. That's not how the show truly closed out, however.
After the attack, Banks and Bayley shared a hug backstage and raised their hands together before departing backstage. With that, one of the more surprising heel turns in recent memory had been completed.
You can see a video of how Raw closed out below:
It's only fitting that Bayley would pull off a heel turn just a few weeks after Banks did so. These two close friends have been right by the other's side during their time together in WWE. They spent the bulk of it as fan favorites and babyfaces, but it was long overdue for both of them to try something else.
Lynch is set to defend her Raw Women's Championship against Banks at the upcoming Clash of Champions pay-per-view, so the former won't have to wait long to gain revenge. As for Bayley, she'll place her SmackDown Women's title on the line against Charlotte Flair. At this point, it's safe to say that "The Queen" will undergo a babyface turn ahead of her match vs. The Hugger.
What This Means
Bayley was immensely popular among the fans dating back to her time in NXT, so this heel turn was totally unexpected. But it's always nice to see change in WWE, so Bayley's run as a heel promises to be quite the ultimate success.
