Becky Lynch has admitted that she was "apprehensive" over WWE's decision to throw her into a story with her boyfriend Seth Rollins.

The Raw Women's Champion revealed she was in a relationship with the Beast Slayer earlier this year and they were Raw's power couple before Brock Lesnar took the Universal Championship from Rollins at Extreme Rules.

Of course, WWE would never miss an opportunity to capitalize on the relationship. But Becky was worried that fans would focus on her dating Seth and not the fact that two talented stars were fighting side by side.

“Honestly, I was very apprehensive,” she told talkSPORT in a recent interview. “What I didn’t want was everybody talking about the relationship. What I wanted was two bad asses, two people at the top of their game fighting side-by-side. “So, for that reason, I was apprehensive. But when I thought about it, I was like OK. One, we’re going to make this a badass fight, it’s going to be a great fight. No matter what, you know when you put me and Seth Rollins in a fight you’re going to get pure passion and we’re going to pull out all the stops. But in terms of having my relationship be the freaking be the front and centre, that’s not what I’m about. That’s not what I’ve worked towards. That’s not what I wanted."

Becky says she wanted to work with Rollins because he's the best wrestler on the roster, not simply because he's her boyfriend.

“I wanted to work with Seth because he’s the best in the business – you know, besides me – but working with him was awesome," she added. "He really is the absolute best.”

The storyline with Becky is what ultimately saw Rollins lose his title as Lesnar would cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase to easily beat him after he was put through a grueling match against Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans. So we're pretty sure Rollins wasn't feeling very hot over it either.
