Becky Lynch spoke with ESPN about the likelihood she'll return to WWE after she has her baby and gave props to females in WWE who have paved the path she's likely to follow.

Lynch was recently interviewed by Charlotte Gibson to promote WWE's partnership with Special Olympics and during the interview was asked about potentially returning to the ring after she gives birth. Citing female wrestlers in WWE who have become mothers but still perform, Lynch has strong role models to look to when she finds she's ready to return.

Citing competitors like Asuka, Mickie James, and Lacey Evans, she called these women inspirational. These talents have essentially proven there's a path to returning to active in-ring competition and says she's planning to make her comeback once she's able to do so.

But for Lynch, it's not just about making a return. It's about how women are viewed in wrestling and how something like a pregnancy can change her perspective on things. Noting that for men it's much easier to become a parent and not skip a beat in the wrestling industry, the sacrifices women make aren't to be ignored.

Lynch has been a big advocate for equality in wrestling. She said, "That's something that I've always preached... And of course, to be on the level with the male performers and be on the same level in terms of pay, in terms of treatment." She also said it's important the industry understands that, "it just doesn't mean that it's got to be the end for a career in any line. And I think a lot of people have proved that, and I hope to join them."

Perhaps this was a bit of a shot to someone like Jim Cornette who criticized Lynch for the timing of her pregnancy and essentially called her selfish for making becoming a mother now her priority.

Lynch Believes She'll Come Back More Motivated Than Ever

Obviously, there's no way to know how she'll feel after she has her baby. She assumes she'll be extremely motivated. That said, she knows what's most important.

"I don't know what that's going to look like when I do have one, and that's my priority. I'll tell you, it'll give me more motivation than ever, I could imagine. But this isn't the end of me, one way or the other."
