Becky Lynch Will Face Stephanie McMahon At SummerSlam [Rumor]

Becky Lynch continued her rebellious ways by attacking Stephanie McMahon on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, moments after the commissioner handed her a suspension.

But that might not be the lone incident we see between "The Man" and McMahon. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News), there have been discussions about Lynch and Stephanie facing off at the SummerSlam pay-per-view in August. The report outlines that a Lynch vs. McMahon bout "was suggested," with "a second company source" confirming that it's being talked about.

A lot can change between now and August, which is still over a half year away. But it's interesting that WWE is already talking about this, with Stephanie rarely competing in the ring.

Lynch is set to challenge Ronda Rousey for her Raw Women's Championship at WrestleMania 35, but it's widely expected that Charlotte Flair will be added to the match as well.

It's been reported that Rousey will leave WWE shortly after WrestleMania to start a family, with the company noting she's under contract until 2021. Should The Baddest Woman On the Planet indeed take a leave, Lynch will need a new person to feud with - so that could open the door for a rivalry with Stephanie.

Lynch's rivalry with Charlotte has been ongoing since August of last year, so it's unlikely to continue much longer after WrestleMania. The Irish Lass Kicker could also feud with somebody like Nia Jax or Alexa Bliss as well.

But a feud with the Raw commissioner would be quite intriguing, and it'd be the latest sign of WWE being all-in on pushing "The Man" even more. But again, take this with a grain of salt. Plans can always change over six months.

What This Means

WWE appears to be already planning Lynch's next big feud, which could hint that Rousey is going to leave soon. A match with one of the most prominent figures in WWE would be absolutely incredible, so let's hope the company goes with it.
