Big Cass has been out of action since tearing his ACL during a match against Enzo Amore last August, and the hope was that he'd be able to return in time for WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.
Well, there's good news on that front. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com is reporting that Big Cass was spotted at the WWE Performance Center, and that "he looks to be in great shape and is walking around without any assistance."
Following his injury, it was reported that Cass would likely miss nine months of action, which would mean he doesn't return until May. However, it's unclear if he'll be cleared and ready in time for WrestleMania.
Cass had ended his tag team partnership with Amore, whom he began feuding with before his injury. It was widely believed that Cass was about to receive a major push in the singles division before he tore his ACL. Amore was fired by the WWE last month following allegations of sexual assault, so Cass will obviously be starting a new feud when he returns to the ring.
While recovering from his injury, Cass has been kept busy filming episodes of Total Divas. It was also revealed early in the new year that he and Carmella ended their relationship, with the latter removing all photos with him on her Instagram page.
Given the injuries to other top superstars like Jason Jordan, Samoa Joe and Dean Ambrose, a Big Cass return in the near future would be huge for the WWE roster. The last calendar year has been horrible when it comes to injuries, and Cass is among the top up-and-coming talents in WWE.
Cass' return to the ring can't come soon enough for the creative team and fans, who are hoping to see a major push for the 7-foot giant. Let's hope his recovery continues to go swell and smoothly.
