Speculation that Daniel Bryan might be the opponent for Roman Reigns at WrestleMania is just that -- speculation. Rumors are WWE is considering a few names, they want four big matches because this year's WrestleMania will span over two nights, and one of the names being discussed is Big E's.

Big E has a lot of supporters, many of whom want to see him succeed as a singles star. Some wonder if he can have a similar run Kofi Kingston did, but Big E isn't sure he's ready. He won't turn it down if offered, but he would feel comfortable taking it under different circumstances.

During his appearance on Busted Open Radio this week, Big E said this might not be his time. Saying, “I want this run to feel earned", he added, "You’ll see talent called up or brought in and there almost given too much too soon." He doesn't want to be one of those people.

He noted that he thinks he's got the ability to be the guy, but as a babyface, he notes it doesn't make sense to already get a World title shot. He cited Daniel Bryan losing to Sheamus in under 20 seconds before Bryan's World Title push is what he wants for himself.

He explained:

I want to be like, ‘He’s jumped through all the hoops, he’s performed time and time again.’ I want to show that week in and week out I can do the solo backstage, I can do the solo promos, I can do the solo matches, and I can do every aspect of this business as a singles competitor. It’s earned.”

With WrestleMania only a few months away, that doesn't really give WWE to set the stage for that kind of push for Big E. As such, it essentially rules out him being a real consideration for that match.

Selfishly, He Wants Fans Around

Big E also mentioned that the ThunderDome is great, but he's hoping his time comes when there are fans to feed off of and he knows for certain that his run is really resonating. One of the things he liked so much about Bryan's run was how the fans were with him.

Not only does he want to earn what he gets, but he wants the fans with him when he gets it.
