New Day member Big E will be out of action for several weeks after suffering a meniscus tear during Tuesday night's SmackDown Live.

The 285lb star made this revelation via Twitter on Thursday, telling fans his cartilage is "cooked" and that he will be away for a bit.

"Making mincemeat of my meniscus, Crossbody cooked the cartilage," he tweeted. "Bye for a bit."

The New Day has a lot to be happy about lately and Kofi Kingston's WrestleMania victory parade should still be in full swing following the high-flyer's monumental accomplishment. But the celebrations will have to be cut short - for Big E at least - as he is set for a spell on the sidelines.

E was part of a six-man tag on Tuesday night, taking on Sheamus, Cesaro and Drew McIntyre alongside his New Day colleagues. He suffered the injury after receiving a crossbody from Cesaro, who jumped into him from the turnbuckle while his footing was off.

"Big E of The New Day has suffered a torn meniscus, according to a tweet from the Superstar posted Thursday afternoon.

"He is not currently medically cleared for action.

While he's out, though, the star won't have to concern himself with the possibility of being bored as Kofi has apparently upgraded his data plan to keep him on FaceTime as much as possible.

"Check your email- Just sent you an upgrade to an unlimited data plan. 24 hour FaceTime life is imminent," the new WWE Champion tweeted in response to Big E's update.

What This Means

WWE did not provide much else in the way of information as they simply went by what Big E announced himself but they have promised updates.

Recovery time for meniscus tears is around three months but it could be as little as three to four weeks if he undergoes a meniscectomy.

We do hope he is able to return to the ring sooner rather than later. Get well soon, Big E.
