The Big Show hasn't wrestled a match for almost nine months, and at points during that downtime, he thought he may never wrestle again.

For the majority of professional wrestlers, making it to WWE is the ultimate goal. Even when WCW rivaled Vince McMahon's company and were on a level playing field, it sounds as if most competitors still saw WWE as the bigger company of the two and the holy grail of the industry. Making it to WWE is only half the battle though, and staying there for an extended period of time is even harder.

If a wrestler enjoys a few years with WWE then for most, that has to be considered a victory. There are a handful of stars who manage to lock in careers for life with Mr. McMahon however. People like Kane, The Undertaker, Mark Henry, and Triple H. Another man who has been with WWE for the longest time is Big Show, although recently his contract came to an end.

Don't worry too much though Big Show fans, as explained by the big man on The Steve Austin Show recently, it was only a formality while he was working out a new deal. Show has been on the shelf recently though, and for a period believed that he may have wrestled his last match. Show's last match was in September of last year against Braun Strowman, and he told Austin, "It was my pleasure to put the guy over and send him on his way, hopefully making him better. I was happy with that match, hell of a match, if that was my last match then you can't ask for anything better."

For those who don't remember the epic bout between Show and Strowman, the one The World's Largest Athlete is describing took place inside a steel cage. The night came to an end with The Monster Among Men slamming Show through the cage wall. It made for a terrific visual and we haven't seen the former World Champion on WWE television since. It also marked the end of a great mini-rivalry between the two Superstars in question.

Although it would have been a great final match to have, Big Show has confirmed that it won't be the last time we see him inside a WWE ring. His latest contract ties him to the company for at least another three years. His comeback was supposed to be at Greatest Royal Rumble however, he wasn't quite ready at the time. Watch this space though as he will be back soon.
