Big Star Reportedly Done With Impact Wrestling, WWE Return Possible?

While one former WWE Superstar made his debut with Impact Wrestling, another star, perhaps the company's biggest, is reportedly done with his run there.

According to PWInsider, Johnny Impact (FKA John Morrison during his time with WWE, is finished serving his time as an Impact Wrestling star. The former champion worked his last match at Sunday’s Slammiversary pay-per-view, losing to new X-Division Champion Rich Swann. He'll be moving onto other opportunities.

Impact, who often changes his name based on the promotion he's working for, may look to become Johnny WWE, Johnny Raw, Johnny SmackDown or Johnny AEW. It is likely any of the promotions would love to have him back considering how strong an in-ring worker he still is.

He was a mid-card performer in WWE at one point but he's seen much bigger success with other companies, even turning himself in a crossover star, performing in movies and television. It's fairly impressive when you consider it often takes coming from WWE to really make it in other places.

What This Means

There's no word if WWE is interested but you would think they might be. Considering they are paying top dollar to stars they don't want to leave, it's logical to assume they would offer top dollar to a strong worker who could jump to AEW. Instead of losing a wrestler, WWE could shock fans by adding a very talented one.

Impact, 39, still has something to offer and with Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff running Raw and SmackDown, it might make sense to assume one of two those has pitched the idea of bringing Johnny in.

One thing we do know is that Impact’s wife, Taya Valkyrie, is the current Impact Knockouts Champion and as PWInsider reports, her deal is expected to run through the end of 2019. She won't be joining Johnny if he makes the jump. At least not yet.
