Bobby Lashley's WWE return hasn't exactly set the world alight and one particular aspect of it has really annoyed him.

As we moved from 2017 into 2018, as is almost always the case around that time of year there were a number of rumors about possible new signings for WWE. One of those new signings was Bobby Lashley, although he wasn't exactly new. Lashley has been a WWE Superstar before, of course, and after eleven years away he is back for round two.

So far Lashley's second WWE run hasn't exactly gone as he probably envisioned it. While he has had a few high profile matches versus Roman Reigns, it seems as if he is struggling to find his footing and that WWE creative is trying to force him into a role that he isn't comfortable with. While away from WWE he was most effective as a heel, but Vince McMahon seems insistent on him playing the stereotypical, smiling babyface.

The most obvious role for Lashley upon his return to WWE would have been a match with Brock Lesnar. The aforementioned match with Reigns was actually to decide who would face The Beast next. The Big Dog won, of course, and Lashley has been treading water ever since. He isn't happy about it either and recently opened up about the subject during an appearance on The Big J Show.

"I wasn't so much bummed, I was more pissed off," Lashley explained when asked about a dream match with Lesnar adding "It's something that's going to be electric, it's something that... needs to happen." The Mega Athlete is going to have a wait on his hands, though. Lesnar will return for a Universal Title match at Crown Jewel, and that will likely be it for WWE as he prepares for his UFC return versus Daniel Cormier.

So what's next for Lashley? Well, WWE currently has him embroiled in a battle with Kevin Owens, and it would seem that he now has 205 Live's Lio Rush to do his talking for him. Lashley also has WWE Super Show-Down to look forward to a little more than two weeks from now. His spot on that show is already secure as he will team with John Cena to take on KO and Elias.
