Wrestling fans are likely already excited over the so-far unconfirmed SummerSlam clash between SmackDown superstar Charlotte Flair and WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus.

It has been rumored that the pair will butt heads at the event next month. And Booker T, for one, is pretty upbeat over the possibility as he reckons such a match could be one for the history books.

Trish is reported to be in talks with the promotion over an in-ring return for the highly anticipated summer PPV but there has been no official word from WWE. The lack of confirmation hasn't stopped Booker from sharing his opinion on the match, however.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast (h/t Sescoops.com), the WWE legend revealed Trish is one of his all-time favorite wrestlers because she had just about everything in her arsenal and ticked every box, while doing things her own way.

“It could be history in the making, especially if Charlotte can go out there and beat the Queen in Toronto," he added.

Trish was not part of last week's Raw Reunion Special in spite of these reports but she's due an appearance on SmackDown this Tuesday.

Bayley has let Trish know that she will be calling her out on the show so she's probably braced herself for an encounter with the SmackDown women's champ, and it will be interesting to see what becomes of this side development.

Booker isn't wrong here, if WWE does bring Trish back for SummerSlam, it should be a very entertaining watch as Charlotte is arguably the most talented female on the current roster while the Hall of Famer is one of the best to ever put her stuff on display for wrestling fans. We'd very much like this to happen and it would probably go down as one of the best old-school meets new-school clashes of all time.
