Booker T shared a photo of himself looking in incredible shape this week, hinting that he might be open to an in-ring return in 2021.

There was once a time in wrestling where age meant as much as it does in other mainstream sports. That by the time a pro wrestler was nearing 40, in most cases, their career was considered close to being over. So much so that when WCW picked up Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage in the mid-90s, WWE ran sketches on Raw poking fun at them for doing so.

How times have changed. Just to give you a little perspective, AJ Styles is currently 43 years old. That's the same age as Hogan was when he turned heel and joined the nWo. It is now commonplace for wrestlers in their 40s and even 50s to keep competing on a semi-regular basis. The Undertaker only just retired, and Goldberg is teasing another in-ring return to face Roman Reigns.

It would appear that Booker T is now considering getting in on the action. Even though Booker has wrestled for his own promotion, Reality of Wrestling, it has been almost nine years since he competed anywhere else. His final matches for WWE took place during a European tour shortly after WrestleMania XXVIII.

Booker posted a photo of himself on Twitter this week in which he looks to be in incredible shape. "Ready for 2021. #TagMeIn," Booker writes. Someone retweeted the photo, complimenting Booker on his physique, and asked who he would like to face should he return at some point in the next year. Booker didn't answer that question, but did reply by tweeting "never say never".

As for who or what Booker would return to the ring for, the only thing limiting that right now is your imagination. Chances are a WWE return would be nothing more than an appearance in the men's Royal Rumble, at first. If his showing in that match was good enough, perhaps WWE would be interested in keeping him around for more. Age no longer means anything in wrestling, and even though Booker is 55, there's no reason why he can't wrestle a match or two in 2021.
