Washington Wizards All-Star guard Bradley Beal has been the centerpiece of NBA trade rumors over the past two weeks, but the 25-year-old seems content on staying in the nation's capital.

Chris Sheridan of Get More Sports reported Monday that Beal prefers to be traded by the Wizards "pronto." This came a week after ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the struggling Wizards will entertain offers for all their players, including Beal and John Wall.

But after leading the Wizards to a thrilling overtime win against the Houston Rockets on Monday, Beal chimed in on the speculation that he wanted to be traded.

"That's nonsense," he told NBATV after the game, via Bob Trosset of NBC Sports Washington. "I heard it earlier before the game and I was like, 'If it didn't come from the horse's mouth, it wasn't me.' I got this Washington jersey on and I come here and work everyday, you know, until otherwise. This is where I wanna be."

Beal and Wall have been one of the NBA's top scoring duos over the past five years, leading Washington to the postseason four times. This included a 49-win season in 2016-17, where they fell one game shy of reaching the Eastern Conference Finals.

The 25-year-old Beal has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers in trade rumors as well, with a source telling Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report that he'd fit nicely alongside LeBron James.

What This Means

Washington's front office may not decide on any big moves until the trade deadline. The team sits at 8-12, only 1.5 games behind the Orlando Magic for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference right now.

If the Wizards can find a way to regain their usual form and make a charge at the playoffs, Beal and Wall will likely stay put. But if the losses pile up, they'll likely decide to tear it all down.
